Both of my dogs and me are so anxious to get out there and whack the quack.  My wife is anxious too... she wants the season to start so that I will shut-up about it :)

I'm pumped to try out my lab for the first time!  I hope the rain that is forecasted shows up, the ducks are not flying like years past.  Seeing decent numbers of geese though!  Saturday morning... Me, my dog, and the pond!!!

I like to just put a nice steak rub or montreal steak seasoning on my duck and goose breasts and cook them on the grill like a steak. Rare. good and juicy. serve with mashed potatoes and veggie of choice. good eats-

On the 25th I am going duck hunting with a friend of mine from work. This will be the first time I have ever duck hunted and when we talked about getting everything setup for dates and such, I was ready to leave as soon as the phone call ended. I am stoked about getting to try duck hunting.  :rockin: I hope I am not as bad at hitting ducks as I was the first time I ever shot a round of trap (2 out of 25)  :bdid: . I went and bought stell shot and a sling for my shotgun and even a mesh mask deal (on sale $5 wal-mart. gotta love things on sale!  :IBCOOL: ) Good luck to all of you hunting make sure you leave enough of the slow flying ones for me.  :chuckle:
