Thanks everyone, wife is reading this now, finally seems to show interest in the stories as well!  Yes, it's a REM600 in 308.  I've had it since 83, and it's previous owner killed african game, moose, 'bou, and elk with it.  I've taken deer, goat, bear, yotes with it.  My sis took a 3x3 blacktail with it as well.  Just seems to work well.  I semi retired it in 92, but find myself packing it once in awhile.  It's really quite a sweet shooting little gem.  I have it's younger brother too, in 243, the first rifle I took a deer with.
