I spend 35 bucks a year on way stupider crap than that..  They have done quite a bit for elk and their habitat over the last several years

I've been for about 10 years.  Join every year at the headquarters in Missoula when I'm passing through to go Deer hunting.  Good place to stretch your legs and look at some nice mounts.  They give you $25 worth of freebies every year and a magazine to join so why not??  :dunno:
Every organization has it's flaws but they are doing something for us sportsman none the less.  I've skinned a couple deer and a couple turkeys with the "free" knives they've given me..  :chuckle:

Been a member for 3 years.

Not me, I believe the RMEF is the devil in disguise.

That devil just scored us some prime Elk, Deer, Turkey, and Bear territory just outside Cle Elum.

And everything they score for us (supposedly) will be subject to their control and can and I believe will be off limits to us someday. I truly believe they have a huge hidden agenda that is going to ruin it for us someday.   Just my  :twocents:

I belong to some of the charitable orgs, RMEF,DU,NWTF,PF,Drake.
If you wonder about the group, there are charity raters on the web.
If you look at the membership counts, if you donate $20-$50 per year, there just are not enough members to
provide funding for the projects. Land where elk are found is pricier than desert scub.
Also, if you are the size of DU with several million members, $20-$50 per year will do just fine.

One more thing. All of these organizations take what they can get. When you see land that is set aside for a species, the donor can offer the land with strings attached, like no hunting or no fishing.

Yep I'm a member of RMEF, PH and DU. Since RMEF uses DU as a role modle what they do is to put as much money into conservation of the land as possible. Not all is public hunting it is for the habatat that the game needs for migration and resting. For me I support DU as a Diamond Life Sponsor in Perputity ($50K) if we do not have orginazations like RMEF, PF and DU ets our future generations will not have the opprutinity to hunt or see wildlife in the field as we do today.  :twocents:

RMEF member here!

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield
