Great write up and pics.  Sounds like a blast.  As soon as the boy turns 12, we'll be putting in too...

Heck yea, it would be a great hunt for kids.  My kid, actually after taking a couple years off is ready to go for Antelope next year...

Mine would kill to go now, but all other western states have a minimum age of 12 to apply.  Next year, when he is 11 I can buy him a point in WY.  So, next year we'll both buy points, and in 2011 we should be able to get drawn.  That's the plan anyway (of course, the "plan" this year was to get drawn for speed goats in MT, but that didn't happen...)

Antelope hunts are the ultimate big game hunt for mentoring kids - and other new hunters.  Just make sure they are proficient to shoot at least 200 yards.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Killed his deer at 268 yds this year.  I'd say he's ready.  WY and MT both say he needs to wait two more years.. ;)
