I would think if it's only mud, crud, mucky floodwaters then maybe an auto shop strength solvent might be a bit much. I tend to take the "More Power" approach right off the bat :chuckle:

then again my solvent is Coleman white gas. I've tried MEK,  methylethyl ketone before the grease and grime just jump off. But it is very nasty stuff.

One Question? do you know just what all they were submerged in?  Can be a lotta nasty stuff in floodwater.  Some of that crud/sludge could be eeewwww

that was a question my germophobe wife brought up last night. i wore gloves and drenched everything down in gunscrubber first hoping that stuff would kill any heebeegeebees that might be there.
the house was under 8 feet of water off of the main river current. not sure there was anything in direct contact for too long being in the current, but who knows.

thats how the black plague was spread. floods picking up human crap and bodies.
"Right now, I am thinking that If my grandmother was here, she would be lecturing me about how there are poor people in Africa, that would just love to have a Ruger, I would just say "Great, granny, lets just ship all the Rugers to Africa!"
