Elevation for Muleys?

--Is there a best elevation to hunt Muleys before the Heavy snow's hit? Just curious on to what elevation you guys like to key in on for are modern opener this year! God I cant wait!!!

They will be everywhere from towns to snow level until the rut concentrates them.

   Depends on what country you want to hunt them in, High Country, Timber, Sage brush, they will be in all of it.

As high as your legs will take you.  Snow isn't much of a factor yet.  In all my years I have only been snowed out on the opener once, and I bet there were bucks still higher, I jsut couldn't get to them

--I know theres muleys in all elevations maybe I should have rephrased and asked what your favorite elevation is for the modern season. I know the elevation that I hunt, im just curious if theres a pattern on that elevation. Im actually just super stoked about this season and want to *censored* about Muley huntin, I didnt get to go last year and im getting anxious to get up in Muley Country!

I prefer to hunt them at 5000 to 7000 ft, that is just my favorite.  I love muleys!  Six more LOOOONG days!

Looked at the weather this morning, and it was 18 in E'burg.  Wondered how many mulies with the deer louse (lice) parasite tipped over last night.

So I am curious what the opinion is in regards to when the bucks start heading for the lower country? Some people say that the big bucks stay high until they are belly deep in snow while others think that as the cold weather comes and the vegetation dies they follow the food to lower country or others think that they stay high til the prerut kicks in and they drop down to where the does are at. While I don't think anyone will ever know the right answer for every year and weather condition ( other than Mike Eastman and son lol) it is an interesting subject. An old timer I know has a honeyhole for the Sept high hunt but claims that even on a dry warm year those bucks won't be there in mid Oct mwhunter

The thermometer in my truck showed the temp was 8* this morning up in the hills around Entiat.

 

It was a cold night in the tent, even with the buddy heater......

Both Saturday and today I woke up in my tent and my water bottles were frozen, not sure how cold it was but it was cold enough for me.
