Snow Goose Quality Hunt Advice
« on: October 11, 2009, 04:23:10 PM »
Hey everyone I need a little advice. I just found out that I have authorization to hunt snow geese up in Snohomish County; problem is I have never hunted geese before and I am clueless to how.

So I come to you all and I am asking for some tips on goose hunting on open fields.

Does it matter where in the field I set up, when should I set up, how many decoys should I get, should I call, and any other advice you could share would be really great.

Thanks in advance for the help!!

this is a hard one because everyone does somthin a bit diffrent my advice is like all will say get out way early alow plenty of time to set up you will need some good decoys i like about 30 a laydown blind like final aproach is what we use set up were the geese are using the field the night before if you can scout if not look for the goose crap then set up there if the birds are talking talk back if not be silent set the decoys in a u shape and put the blinds into the bottom of the u geese like to land into the wind so remeber this when you set up and put the opening of the you starit out infront of your blinds the edges of the u the farthest decoy should be no more that 30 yards this is how we do are sets hope this helps and also aim at there heads lol
