Its official, I am sitting at the office and I am going bat *censored* crazy wanting to be up in the mountains.  In previous years, I was always excited but it was tempered against the fact that I still havent harvested an animal since i have been in wa.

Something is different this year.  I cant put my finger on it, but something is different.  Like all the years past, I have my deer, bear and lion tags.  Gear list is pretty much the same as it always has been except this time i am taking my call made by rainshadow (which by the way is a phuking awsome piece of gear.  i have never had a call that sounded this life like).  The only REAL difference is where i am heading, much rougher and nastier terrain than I usually hunt.

Hopefully the 9 year dry spell is ended this weekend.
Worst hunter in Western Wa.

Truck is packed, groceries are bought, just need to load them in the cooler tonight.  Everything is ready, pulling the kid out of bed at 3:50 and leaving at 4, be in camp at 9:00...my buddy scouted the area already, and knows where the deer are, and he and his son will join me friday afteroon.  He tagged out in archery season, so he is going to try to call bears and help me find a buck.  I can hardly sit still right now to read the site...

LONGEST. DAY. EVAR.

Sneaked out at lunch and filled the cooler, and topped off the tank.  One hour to go...

Good luck all, can't wait to see some pics over the next few weeks!  (Hopefully puttin' up some of my own!)

E-where are you heading to?
:fire.:

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

My Cabin...  Enjoying the warm dry bed.  We'll be able to hunt easily in 4 GMUs.  You?

I'm going nuts. Even with all of the honey-do chores I'm doing to make my wife happy while I'm gone for the next week, I'm still watching the clock. This is the slowest day ever. 13 hours till I leave, boy that's a long time, hope I can sleep tonight.
