Highway 410
« on: October 12, 2009, 06:27:12 AM »
With 410 closed, getting to the 2 goat units will be difficult at best. The road is closed at the intersection of Chinook Pass hwy and Cayuse hwy in addition to just outside of Naches.
You can still get to the Clement sheep unit.
Gathering is easy. Hunting is a challenge.

to the best of my knowledge, there is no way to hook up the fr 19 road in little naches without using 410?  i know you can jeep/motorcycle it from the taneum side, but it doesn't look like there is a way to go up from manastash and through bald mountain to connect.  please let me know if i'm wrong.

if that's the case, could be a pretty good hunt for those who have the ability to get in there.  it would be weird seeing that unit as a ghost town.

Little Nachese can be accessed from the 70rd out of Greenwater.

Follow the 70 road to the top (just before Gov meadows) take a left on i believe the 7030. Fllow it up and over to the end of the pave ment in the little naches area. (if you come to the end of the 70rd where it is a "T", you misse dethe turn. Just watch the road for the traffic going left at the top)

I knw some are going to flame me for posting this but, i though i would help out my fellow hunters.

yeah acess from wenas malloy road or 1701 off manashtash road it's quicker than driving around any way seven miles up 1701 from manastash road first left off pavment . the road up jones to clemans is 12-17 miles then you can take a right at the top and come out on rockey prarie. good luck if it snows .

I wonder if the DOT will convinse the guy wh owns the gravel pit to pen the gate. The one that leads to mud lake. It would not be to bad to head up Bald Mt rd, then to Clemons Mt and back down again, out past Mud Lake.
Just need to get he gate open again.

I still do not understand why the close it atTipsoo. Let us get to Bumping/Little Naches area......

What about all the people that live above the slide. What are they doing for them?
How about the businesses, are they all shut down?

Norsepeak, this is a questin for you, you live above the slide area.

Just drive around the barricade, lots of people already doing it. Lots of people at Gold Creek and Whistlin Jacks today. People hiking around Lake Tipsoo. Electricity is back on so you should be able to get gas at Whistlin Jacks. The sign just says "local traffic." You should be good if you want to go up there.
