I would ask your buddy if he has already taken two.  He might be onto something.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

that would be nice.
he leads me a stray from where they are.
used to piss me off but not now. he put in a ton of time hiking, and scouting.
i know the general area but he has a spot in that area that he gets up way high and glasses for hours into the huckleberry fields. wich i dont know where those are.pretty sure he is gettin way up in elevation.
 his second bear was 419lbs.

does anyone in here know some spots in washougal?

I live right up the draw from the bear house. I unfortunately haven't shot a bear yet this year. I have seen the sign, but no bears. There some longview fiber property by the off road vehicle area that has bears.

I don't think he is feeding them anymore, one got hit on the road and I think the wdfw finally put a stop to the feeding? I pass the house 2-3 times a day and haven't seen one there this year?

Climb the silver star trail and go to the top (maybe campout) and you will glass bears

If he was hit in the spine he would not have gotten back up.  Sorry to here about your bear.
Keep trying.  He's probably went down hill and into the thickest stuff around to die.
