I dropped DU this year.  Have been it for years but funds are tighter and I don't even hunt ducks.

Bone,

You ought try and make it to the Selah DU dinner in March.  It's made a great comeback over the past couple of years and is a quality family event again.
hey, where's Professor Chaos? Anyone seen him?

WWA, NW Chapter. Great organization. Dropped DU because they supported taking out the dikes at the Headqurters Unit pheasant release site on Fir Island. Besides, they always have their hand out and it costs too much to go to the banquets. Just my  :twocents:.

I was a DU member for a year. Went to one DU banquet and that was all i needed. It was a bunch of self-important, arrogant a$$es flashing their cash, talking about their expensive leased land or duck clubs, and sitting in front of a heater waiting for some birds to fly by. If you didnt act like a self-righteous arrogant a$$, they wouldnt acknowledge you were there. Haha. Maybe its just my area (Gig Harbor) thats like that. And, the magazine is the same every issue, you know, the picture of the rich guy in his suit and tie, shakin some politicians hand and the DU higher Ups hand since he just paid $10,000 to be a life-long member  :pee: At least i dont have to worry about those guys hunting by me, out on public land without a heater, guide or television. Done venting now. Hunting is only 3 days away!!!!!!! :IBCOOL:

I've been an avid DU member for years now.  I'll look into the WA Waterfowl Association - wasn't aware of it's existence 'till now.

Can't let it die!  I'm sure if you contact the DU representative for WA you can revive your local chapter.  The rep's name is Bernard Brown, and if you send me a PM I can give you his direct email.
