Gutpile, great thread, and you are right, we will be in search of our first deer for my 13yr old son, and my 11 yr old daughter. They have their packs loaded, I have the snickerbars and apples all ready! Since they passed hunters ed tigether last July, I want nothing more than to gut their deer.

Good luck to all, and thanks to a few of you for a bit of guidance with the NE hunt.

I am right there with the rest of you! Taking my 13yr old out after his first deer. Passed hunters ed last year in Colorado and has been dying for a deer since. In Colorado deer tags were draw only, so now that we are back home this will be his first chance.

I can hardly wait! :IBCOOL:

Me and my Brother are taking out the boys, his 16, mine 14.  Hoping they can get the fever and start a lifetime of memories.  My boys first year actually carrying and hunting was last year and his grandma (my mom) had a heart attack and stroke and ended the hunt on the second day.  She's doing good now and hopefully we wont have that again.  Would make my hunt for the boys to connect.

The buddy that I am going to hunt with this year, is going to bring his 9 yr old boy on his first hunt. Should be fun to watch daddy get a deer.   :IBCOOL:

My 8 year old son is going with us for the 4th year. He hasn't taken hunters safety yet (next summer) so he'll just be walking with me and his grandpa.

One brother is taking his 6 year old son,and the other brother is taking his 16 year old daughter. My nephew hasn't taken hunters safety yet either, and my neice doesn't want to hunt, its just a camping trip for her.
