I will have my 12yo nephew along for opening weekend, his first year hunting.
Got a few grouse under his belt in sept and now try for a deer.
I will be at my property in the NE section between tonasket and republic, anyone hunting with kids that needs help pm me and i'll try to help, or you can just stop by and say hi.
If you have a doe permit for 204 for youth i might be able to help with some access for that.
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

A few years ago when a nephew was just 16, he'd gone opening weekend with his dad and come home skunked. I was skunked on my trip. So, mid week the nephew and I were discussing hunting... Money was a little tight for gas and such so.. His dad let me take his fuel miser truck and his son hunting the next weekend. His dad had to work.

One of the biggest pleasures of my life was standing next to my nephew when he plugged a nice Muley buck off-hand for his first deer.  He's since taken more deer and one bear on his own.

We have 150 acres of private land to hunt and i've been watching a huge 4 point so hopefully we can find him. I just baught him a new .243 and it's all sighted in and ready, my son loves it. Good luck to all and STAY SAFE!!!!

Yup, taking my 28 and 26 year old sons  :chuckle: Taking two friends along that have never shot a deer.

Dont even plan to shoot till at least one of them gets one. I just want to see the look of excitement and joy that they get from it. Man those were the days

My 10 year old and myself(Mom) are going to try and get one. Well, Jake already got his tag filled but, since it was a 2nd deer tag he's off for another. But, we'll see if he and I can get one. Eric and our older boy are Muzzy hunting so, they'll have to wait!! :chuckle:
