For the blacktails to be out and about, it HAS TO RAIN!!!!  It is written down somewhere I am sure.

Agreed....whiteys and muleys I dont know...but black tails...the worse the weather, it seems the better it is...

especially just after it stops.

Rain doesn't affect deer in a negative way.   Wet wet snow they will hold up, wind is about the only weather condition that will put them down.  Animals hate wind.

Here is one from the archives.  This is Vek with his buck back in 03 I think.  It was one of the nastiest openers I can remember.  I was getting oftly wet a few ridges away.   Slammer buck for sure.

I hate the rain, makes the windows in the truck fog up, and my left arm gets wet if i have to keep the window down..

Probably don't have to do much praying down there around the Wishkah!! Pretty darn wet in that country.  Nothing like sitting under a tree in the rain eating a cold meatloaf sandwich.. Now that's the life.

Oh no, i have to drive, if someone else drives they do stupid things like, not stop when i say too, or shut off the truck (that just scares off the deer), drive too slow or too fast, pull out of the way of the truck behind us instead of just blocking the road so only i get the shot.
Dang now im gonna have to invest in some new wiper blades..

On a serious note i like hunting in the rain, not the monsoon rain, but a good steady rain is nice, keeps the woods quite to walk in, keeps just enough noise to mask mine, keeps the scent down and keeps alot of hunters in camp or in there trucks. Also the deer tend to move around or get up to shake off, after the rain stops even if just briefly watch out, lots of critters decide thats the best time to get on the move..

Ive hunted the SE, the Midwest, and Now the PNW...

and I love hunting in the rain! Not a damn tsunami but a light but steady rain all day...mmmmm

best deer days Ive ever had were while shivering in the rain!

some hunters wake up at 445am and hear rain and role over back to bed....  if I wake to rain that makes sure no snooze button for me!

good news is...  rain + 300 win mag = no big concerns over lost blood trails!  Im very excited about this weekend!

Rain is good.  I do think it is good for hunting whitetails also.  Over in the Palouse, while I was going to WSU, I could almost guarantee a shot at a buck any evening it was raining during the late season.
