Yeah, that has been my experience where I hunt. Both Whities and muleys usually get down out of a heavy wind. When it is raining, the patterns are a little different but the deer still tend to move a little.
This is the reason I spent a lot of money on good rain gear. Deer should be out and more importantly, fair weather hunters will NOT. Even many of the hunters that come out for the opening morning won't make it past lunch if it's raining raining hard. This could be the best opener I've seen in a while.Maybe the clear cuts won't look like pumpkin fields for a change
