 Sometimes it's tough to tell just by a picture, the guy in the picture could be a midget  . I know Slyr is over 6' though. That's a lot of venison.

LOL.....Actually I'm exactally 6' D-man.....

Believe it or not, I got stopped at the game check right before town on my way out and a Wildlife guy took a sample and estimated that deer to be either 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 yrs. old!!  No sh.t!  Could you guys even imagine what that thing would've been like in a couple years?

Anyway took him to Salvanna Meats near Arlington.  Without the head, hide, guts, and portion of the legs he weighed 218 lbs.!  Biggest deer they said they had weighed there.  You guys all know as well as me, if you got one hanging at the butchers that goes 150lbs. that's pretty good size.  I wish I would've taken pictures of it hanging. 

It's one of those things I don't really tell people because 90% are gonna say BS!  Usually not even worth it.  But I had my Dad, cousin, and a huntin' partner (Clyde) with me and all three saw what I saw, and were obviously with me when the Wildlife agent took his samples. 

He's actually on my wall right now.......

Being that was so big I was kinda encouraged to get it mounted.  Would've kind fit into the "What do you consider mount worthy?" thread.  Anyway, didn't come out nearly as mean lookin' as he really was.  Oh well, I can look at him and say.....that was a big deer.

Here is a 3 x fork muley from the south east corner. Bad genetics down there. There are nice ones but there is a lot of these. I think I bled more than the deer. Thats what happens when you relax too much shooting at 474 yards with a 308 Norma magnum.

I would have to agree with you......I've always thought that Game Checker just didn't know what he was doing.  He was positive it a only a couple years old.  I'd seen a lot of deer in that area and never seen a bodied deer like that......ever!

The game checker did take samples of the teeth.  I had to sit and wait while he did.  I believe he also check something else out in there.....he said he thought it to be 2 1/2 yrs. but possibly 3 1/2.  I don't know.....he knows more than I do I'm sure.
