Elkstuffer I don't think anyone is putting pressure on him to shot the biggest one on the mountain by any means we are just having fun debating the pics sent through. BTW when I spoke to him HE wanted to hold out and try to find the largest one out there, I will be happy as heck when he shoots the one he wants no matter which one it is!  :)

Oh and Shawn the one I was scoring at 159 is 408!

Do you think the other one is bigger or smaller?

By the way, I hold Coach in a WAY different light that that other **** can't think of a word worth printing.   Talking score is fun and its cool he has goals and even if he shoots a dink I will be happy for him.  He is not a smack talkin jerkwad.  Lofty goals are fine, smack talkin is a good way to make yourself look like a fool.  There is a huge differentiation between the two.

I understand what you're saying M_ray. Last night at the shop I could tell that his head was spinning. He had seen probably 80% of the sheep in the unit. I was probaby out of line when I said we were putting pressure on him. My apologies if anyone took it wrong.

Hopefully you steered him north to check the other %20.   There were a couple big unmolested ones up there.

I'm trying to get ahold of him. He said he was going up Meystre canyon today. I thought he should go up the next canyon to the east. I've been watching sheep in there all morning from the house. I think the pressure up top yesterday may have pushed them over one or two canyons. :dunno:

Other than Coach only the auction tag guy would be hunting in there, unless a tribe member decides to go out, and if I had the auction tag I wouldn't be hunting there anyway :twocents:

Like I said earlier I'm behind Coach 100% whatever he decides, there is nothing wrong sitting here hoping he tags a bigger one than what we have been scoring though. Having hunted with an OIL tag I can tell you it helps to have guys input their :twocents: and keep you focused on your own goals. Seeing all those animals you definately get a itchy trigger finger.

The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!

Do you think the other one is bigger or smaller?

For the record I think the first one in the blurry pics is larger but not by much maybe 4-5 inches at best ... pretty much the same mass but longer IMO.  :) I think he will find a larger one to take!

If you look at the head on pic that ram flares out wider which will add a little to the length but what do I know it looks like a nice one and probably the average one in that unit but there are larger. I scouted this area a few years back with a friend that had the tag and this was the average in there ... if it came right down to it he can get one like this just about everyday out so no need to get itchy trigger with these guys.

I thought that coach had said that the auction tag holder tagged out in the Tieton unit. Why he was hunting there I have no idea :twocents: The tribe usually doesn't tag out or even go out with there two Clemens tags until the snow brings them WAY down. There isn't a road that goes up the side of the hill. :chuckle: There was a bird hunter coming out of Meystre canyon at dark last night. He might have stirred them up pretty good if he did a bunch of shooting.

He is looking at so many rams his head should be spinning.  He knows he can kill a mid 160s ram anyday so there is nothing wrong with pulling back, being patient, and think about the one you want.  Its a long season and we know there is a big one in there he hasn't seen.  Take a few days and just soak it in.  There is no hurry and you want to enjoy the hunt.

elkstuffer i think you are right about the auction guy tagging out in the tieton unit, seems like i remember hearing that to. i think it is great to have all of us behind him i don't look at it as pressure i look as it as encouragement some of us might never have the chance that he has right now. and it sure shows that he has restaint from not busting one of the first 160's he saw and trying to do it with his bow. i don't know if i could pass some of those rams they are awsome trophy's to me and like said score does not amount to much when you harvest a animal that you really wanted. i have several book scoring animals, but i don't enter them in because, they are a trophy to me not by the " but the experience i had taking them and the pain and joy of the hunt. I can't stop lookin at the computer i have high anticipation of seeing a great ram no matter the score.
