Hunting later this week and sitting here wishing

that I was there at legal shooting hours. Animals likely on the ground right now.

Pretty emotional/melancholy morning. Must be because I am sick. Lots of memories from this morning in years past. I stood out doing chores and watching the light change. Heard first shots at 7:02 from out in the LT or sheep company. Maybe that was Slenk getting it done, or Red Dawg up the road.

Well it isn't light here yet and I haven't heard any shots yet ringing from the shooting gallery out back......wonder how my boyz are doing down at the duck grounds.....and I am here on this stupid computer

Even though i'm hunting M/L this year. I'm sitting here at 0716 twitching in my chair as I listen to the rain come down and the sun just starting to rise especially since shooting time was what 20 minutes ago..

I got up at 0530 got dressed and ready to go. Stoped by Starbucks on the way out. I seen a couple trucks headed out for the morning. Now I am sitting at work looking on this site waiting for the stories to start showing up. This sucks.

you get up too early

I'm bowhunting rifle season for blacktails but I'm waiting until the last week in October. Haven't heard a shot yet, but then again the rain is pounding on the roof so it would be hard to hear anyway. When this breaks, I may have to slip out and check a couple areas.

Even though I havnt hunted deer with a rifle for 3 years now, I still hate not being in the woods... So here I am sitting in front of the cpu in my car watching traffic and only dreaming that I was actually out in the sage... Washington Fish and Game are running around with their heads chopped off.. And I am watching Trespassing Complaints come onto the cpu every 2 minutes.. GOD I WISH I WAS OUT THERE.. I just hate hunting stateland with a thousand other hunters trying to shot the only legal buck... LOL.. as Im typing this a Game Warden is running a Remington Rifle for stolen... Maybe I'll go back to rifle if I can find some private land I can hunt... I don't know.. Well the rifle's not stolen... Good luck everybody...

I heard the first rifle shot at 6:53, several more at 7:00. The shotguns started blazing at 7:30.... I was back at the house by then because my Wife has a Saturday class this weekend.

It is a zoo out here 2 years Go hardly anyone hunted the area I am hunting this year it a joke heard a lot of shot far away I seen 4 does and 10 hunters at least I am not working

sitting at work , have seen a picture of a nice three point taken off hwy 101 between Raymond and Artic and a three point taken near South Bend. Got to love the weather

Put in three hours spotting for my bud this morn, saw 7 does closest one at about 5 yards. Did a walk in unit and only saw 2 other hunters. Now I have to go help him move on opening day

left the trailhead at 6am with redstar (we were a little slow getting organized).

had a helicopter hover over us, saw electricity arcing on powerlines, got rained on too much.

just got back to dry off a little.

Think I heard a gunshot (could've been thunder) way off in the distance.

Pretty slow today, heard five shots all day. saw a few deer, two does identified and at least one other. Had a 6x6 and 4x4 bull come into my stand area, god I wish I had my camera, I did get this guy on the way home. More to come later in the week I hope.

I hunted the umptanum unit between selah and ellensburg. Heard first rifle shot at like 6:10... A bit early. Saw about 30-40 deer. Hiked for about 7 hours. Heard some close shots below me to find a big 2pt running my way. Never could put the third point on him.

Heard about 50 rifle shots around me in all directions. Very good hunt. Goin back tommorow.

Mumble/grumble....

My plane arrived from Japan at about 9:00AM..then clearing through customs and having to stop at work before driving home just BEAT.....sorta put a damper on my day. Spent the last week in Japan on business.

Tomorrow I'll be out for part of the day...likely hunt evening as my body is still flaked out on sleep from the time change.

Couldn't believe how many roadhunters there were in the canyon. Everyone trying to glass up a deer. Even guys with boats on them to get across. Funny.

So far no luck for me. For a week straight, I was getting this guy + two other bucks on my TC every day up until Friday. Wouldn't you know it, one day before hunting season and he vanishes. I think he was maybe pre-rutting because there were a couple does hitting it too and I was seeing the most activity when the we had that cold streak. Now since it warmed up and started raining, I haven't seen him or the other two bucks just a doe

I have my camera on a very large piece of private property that I am certain no one else is hunting so I think he is still around somewhere. I'll just keep after him and cross my fingers. I have about twenty pics of this buck. He's pretty cool looking. Im only about an hour drive away, but I won't make it out today until this evening

Five of those shots were my buddies wife. They got a little 3 pt. Sorry no pics. He doesn't have email. Thats a whole other story

Some mature bucks are already hitting it hard. I saw a dead three point yesterday that had fresh cuts from fighting all over his head and neck.

It's been really, really slow in my area, 5 shots yesterday, only one shot today for 200 rigs, no gutpiles, game being checked out or in back of trucks. Almost thinking of trying another spot or two the next couple days until later in the season.

Coincidentally all 200 of those rigs except mine and two others were just road hunting. Frigging rediculous.
