Just watched the news they said there has been a cougar spotted in Orting around the river.

5 years ago at that corner you park at to walk into the hatchery. i seen a wdfw truck go buy with a trailer that had a cougar in it. it was kinda cool.

I have heard of a lot in that area for years.

oh yeah my dads friend hunts outside of orting somewhere and he has seen one every year for the last 5 or 6 years. its a female and he has seen it with kittens 3 times. he says he knows its the same cat every year cuase it has a small white patch on the left of its neck...

to me that just a target  ;) but he wont shoot it. and he always buys a cougar tag.

unit 460 has an ass load of cats. ive seen 7 total in that unit just hunting the handcock tree farm over the last 11years. and ive seen 10 total in that unit in 22yrs of driving around up there with parents. 

i know getting out towards orting into the foot hills should have alot of cats. i know of more guys getting cats down around that area then anywhere else.

anybody know if we can hunt with a rifle in that area or only archery

when do you think hounds will come back  ben awhile since i hunted cougs

2 maybe 3 years is my guess, not sayin they'll open it like it was more like expand on what they got right now

I've seen tracks in the sand along the river a few different times, just never ran into the cat making them.
