Too bad I didn't find it brown (with score update)

Man I wish I would've stumbled on this horn when it was brown. Hell, I wish I would've found the damn thing. My brother found it on the rifle deer opener. I walked within ten yards of it last fall, and close to it this spring, but on the wrong side of the brush. The pic does it no justice. In the hype of opening day, I didn't measure it (yet), but the eyegaurd is 3" plus, 7"+ base measurement I'm guessing. A great horn no matter what. I'll have Justin measure it, then he can post it.

And too bad the back tine doesn't match up and make an even fork. And sorry for the ugly *censored* int he pic, kinda ruins the experience of looking at the horn.

I'm surprised the horn didn't grow legs and run from your ugly ass.

Holy cow that does look brand new. I've got a couple of dandies that I'll have to give that go on. Any particular stain that works well?

I start with a natural base coat, then get dearker as desired, roughing the antler up with scotch-brite or sand paper along the way. It takes a few before you get the hang of it so dont start with a nice shed! Do a search on "staining sheds" on this site and you will find some good info. I beleive i did one under "before and after" or something like that.....good luck

I scored this horn yesterday. First time I got 81 10/16". Second time 81" even. I'm not a math major, so I added it all on the calculator and it's right. Looking at the buck, I'd say 20" inside spread, but that could be conservative still. So...if the other side matched, that makes 162", plus 20" spread makes 182" gross. Smoker muley in any unit in my opinion. If you don't believe me on the numbers, I can have my bother post the numbers from the score sheet, I left it with him.

From what I remember, the mass measurements are just under 6 for the first two, just under 5 for the second two. Main beam is 21 and change. From there I'm not sure...I'll ask him to post them.

Shoot, what pong table? That's a dinner table...for those that like to drink their dinner, that is.
