Before anyone starts, its not required to wear blaze orange in Idaho.

They will find something else to bitch about any way. orange or not.

Dandy buck and great shot.

Look at it this way MJ, nobody is bitching about the lack of blaze orange, :chuckle: guess I should have said something about the long distance shooting. ;)

Give it a rest guys, you have made your points and its time to move on. Start your own thread about long shots if you wish.

Once again great write-up and nice buck MJ.

Sorry but I don't buy it!! If your buddy can put ten shots under 5" at 700yrds, tell him to come on up to one of our benchrest matches at 600yrds and I'll bet you and him that he wont do it consistently!, I shoot 1,000 yrds and 600 yrds matches all the time and it is very hard even with a $3,000 Bench Gun to do what your stating, You must have a no wind at ALL!!! to acomplish this, I have put 10 shots at 600yrds under 5" but it is very HARD!! and I shoot a lot.

They'll be in Wenatchee this next year for a shooting competition I'm pretty sure...  I know his boss has a custom gun that will group 1.5" at 600 yards... Al's been trying to get him to enter a few comps with the gun because he should be able to set some records...  If you don't buy it that's your deal...  Cause I'm not trying to sell anything.

Thanks for the compliments guys!  Looks like I'll have a few people to call to help pack this sunday but for the most part I'll be hunting solo (couple surprise funerals got my buddies occupied this weekend) so I'm pretty much guaranteed to shoot something in a hell hole! lol

Hey Mike.  You forgot to mention that your friends barrels were $3000 dollars and he burns one out weekly.  That explosion bonded Rhuthinium Oxide to Titinium technology from Sweden is still not available to the general public so I think you better back down because if you win the match you'll then be called a sandbagger, dirty rotten, pool hall hustler.  Then you'll have to bust out the poolstick to collect and end up in the Wenatchee slammer.  Not worth it.

You must be Joking!! I run 600yrds Matches at Paul Bunyan Club and the record there for the past 6yrs is 2" ten shots by Billy Copellin and that was done one time with no wind. My buddy in Montana has a 1000yrd Record of 3.5" also one time in years of shooting and a Custom heavy barrel $3,000.00 Gun!!...Now try to convince me that you can do that with a Hunting rifle!!.. Bench guns are heavy and have heavy barrels, Custom Jewell Triggers and Custom Actions, Scopes, Stocks etc... come on up to Eatonville and lets put some money on the table if you or your buddy can put ten shots under 2", My hands are getting itchy.

My friend those barrels are S@#T, I'll put a Lilja,Shilen against that crap anytime. You talking to someone who has been shooting Benchrest competition for years and I know what I'm talking about. He burns a barrel weekly?? shows what crap that barrel is, and please don't tell me he shoots thousands of rounds a day. Like I said I dont buy it.
