I'm working a double shift today.  Bad timing, though I usually don't partake in the mayhem anyway.

You better take a look at these new regs proposed.  Its a statewide ban on shedding until May 1st.  It will be like that EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't say I didn't see it coming, but its just ignorant.  They can't enforce the harassment laws that they have now.  Sorry guys no more ATL pics.

A ban till May 1 would be a good thing but it would be worthless unless they can enforce it.  Hard to believe that just 5 years ago shed hunting wasn't the rage that it is now.  It's gotten popular very quickly.  Where are these regs.

That sucks that there are people out there that just dont think the rules apply to them. This may sound stupid but i think they should make it just like poaching something like if you get caught in the closed area with sheds you lose your vehicle or huge fines.I know you have the problem with actually catching people but sooner or later your going to have some idiot get caught then people might see what happens.I know  there are to many holes in that i guess i am just talking out of my back side.To bad someone didnt stumble on to their stock pile before they got to it.      :chuckle:

I hiked in at 12:01 am and all I can say is dam! When they opened the gate at 12:00 there were people running across the feed lot to get up into the basin behind the rock face. I hiked about 1.5 miles back up into the sage basin and looked around a bit then got back to the truck by 4:00am. I waited for the gate to open then drove up to cougar canyon and spent the day in there and picked up 3 horns. 1 6pt, 2 5pts.

Zero for the season, I used to average at least 4 browns a year, nowdays its been very slim, met one couple who got a nice set of 6s on my way up they went in the dark, saw maybe folks with 6 sheds total, probably 200 folks in there, the lot was overflowing with rigs

Darn.....I don't even bother with it.  I'd sure like a crack at some of that bone, but I just don't do the crowd thing.  I can find enough of it close to my home that it just isn't worth it.  I've done higher up out of the zone in years past, but that gets hit REALLY hard.  I think I am going to start concentrating on some of those bulls down in the blues.

Well if ya ever want to split the diesel I'd love a trip to the blues, I did a bunch of walking this year and zero went to the Sol duc, Brinnon, Teanaway and Cowiche before the Oak Creek zoofest

Cowiche you basically have o camp on them.  The locals are on them in a heartbeat and there are some dandies.  I have yet to figure out the teanaway, but have my eye on it.  I made one trip to there just to scout it out with the family.  That is on my list for jackpot.

I saw 3 nice 6 point sheds from the blues that were picked up this spring over the weekend. 2 nice fresh browns, one was real heavy, maybe a 330 bull, the other same size frame but not as heavy and a real cool white one that had the brow and #2 point burned in the school fire. i'm trying to get pic's of them to post. they're from a usfs firefighter i met over there this weekend, my cousin's new boyfriend.
sounds like he might be a good new friend

Here's a nice set from the Blues. They weigh a tad over 13# per side and score in the mid 160's.
