2010 Hoyt Maxxis 31 Report
« on: October 20, 2009, 05:08:49 PM »
Well we got the new Hoyt Maxxis 31. So I will do the Report on this bow.
Spec.
AtA 31"
Brace Height 7"
Mass weight 3.9lbs
IBO Speed 323

The bow is set to 29" draw 60-70lbs. set at 70lbs ..max lbs on this was 74lbs...
The new Maxxis 31 has a new Riser
all-new, past-parallel, laminated XTS ARC Limb System
In-Line Roller Cable Guard that reduces friction, increases speed and improves efficiency with a lightweight, durable, low-profile design.

I installed a QAD Ultra-Rest HD, That fits nicely on this new riser. The cut away in the roller guard allowed for a nice fit

After setting the nocking point and center shot I installed a peep and D-loop. Got the bow sighted in and shot some groups with it. The bow Aims very well, and the Draw is smooth. Im shooting a 353grain arrow at 70lbs, 29" draw and it shot 309-310fps. So I put the bow in the press and set the timing and tuned the bow some more, and improved the speeds to 314fps.
The Cams are the same as the Alphamax, but the bow feels much better on the shot than the Alphmax. Very hard wall and nice valley. The Maxxis 31 is dead in the hand on the shot, and very quite. I really like the look of the bow at full draw with the new limbs.
Over all the New Maxxis 31 looks and feels great...It delivered good speeds. They reduced the hand shock with the new limbs. The bow aims good and goups good, The bow is very well balanced. I think hoyt created a nice and improved bow with the Maxxis 31.

You look good in a Hoyt Cory.  Do you have any of the other bows from Hoyt......a Contender maybe?
