remington 700 sendero

Hey guys i just got a new gun from my grandpa! super pumped up about it too... It is a remington model 700 sendero SFII in the .300 remington ultra mag caliber. It's one sweet gun! i was just curious to see how you guys thought it compared to a remington 700 ADL, BDL, or CDL ??

I got the same gun and I love mine. However it is heavier than the CDL. I first got the 700 XCR and it kicked quite a bit. I put a brake on it and then sold to get the sendero. It shoots like dream.  You would have to put a muzzle brake on the other rifles you talked about.

Nice. I think the sendero's run a bit heavier than the cdl's, but I don't think it'll be too heavy to pack around during hunting season.  Aren't they more of a target rifle?

That gun is crap. Give it to me so you don't have to deal with it and I'll have two. 

They are sweet guns, but are on the heavy side. Mine would not shoot any factory ammo worth a damn either. Once we started reloading, it made a world of difference.

Did you put a brake on the sendero? or does the weight keep the recoil down enough to save money and deal without out buying a brake?

I did not put a brake on my Sendero. I don't believe you need a brake on the sendero it has enough weight. Its a great gun and I agree that you need to use hand loads in it if at all possible. I got a load now that I am under a inch at 100.

Ya me and my dad are starting to reload our own. He used to do it a lot and now he wants to get back into it. He's having trouble justifying the fact of droppin $65.00 per box on premier sirrocco's for his BDL .300 rum.

I did not put a brake on my Sendero, I didnt need it for my 7mm RUM.  I just bought mine this last spring and it is a great gun.  A little on the heavy side if you have been shooting the lighter synthetic guns.  I carried mine the last five days on my Idaho elk hunt in some extremely steep country and never noticed it being heavy.  

My Sendero shoots like a dream.  I would be very excited if I was you!  This gun is Remingtons Cadillac!!!

Exactly the cost of the low end 300 rum factory ammo is still quite a bit higher than you can reload for. Anyway good luck and your gonna love the gun.

Mine will consistently hit milk jugs at 950 yards with hand loads. I shot my blacktail with it saturday at 580 yards. Mine shoots the 208 gr Hornady A-Max's the best, but it also shot the 200gr Accubonds well.

I also use the Sendero in 300RUM.  Recoil is minimal.  No need for a brake or decelerator pad in my opinion.  Topped with a big scope and bipod, it's a tank, but very trustworthy in the field.  I shoot the Berger 175 VLDs and am impressed.

I shoot a 7mag SFII.  With handloads (150 grn nosler partition) it'll shoot 3 shots into one ragged hole at 100 yards. You get used to the weight after a while.  Best rifle I've ever owned.

my buddy has one great guns like said a bit heavy comparded to cdl bdl etc his is 7mm mag shoots good he likes it i have 2 700 one my 700 lss in 270 wsm one of my babys and a 25-06 in bdl both nice guns

Mine is just barely under 13lbs.
