Timber Blacktail
« on: October 20, 2009, 10:35:41 PM »
Shot this buck today. I was stillhunting some higher country timber and spotted him bedded below me about a 100 yards. For a blacktail I thought he looked plenty big for me so let him have it. Of course it had to be one of the few times I have gone out without my pack and game bags since I thought I would hunt light. Took some pics and gutted him out then called my dad from the ridge top and he met me at my rig when I hiked out for my pack. Him and a friend helped bone cape and pack it out. It was a great day for it after all the rains we had on the opener. nwhunter

Nice buck, I love packin' 'em out. Seriously, a little (or a lot) of hard work really makes it worth it, and makes you feel like you earned it. I see you're from Forks. I just watched Twilight last night with my wife, you didn't see any vampires while you were out thre did you?  :chuckle:
