I just got this pup today from Mallard Lake Kennels in Lake Stevens. He is the first dog that I have ever had!  He is 12 weeks old.

Found out today that he really likes birds when he was retrieving pigeons at 12 weeks old.

They love those live birds!
Echo that Carp...you get what you put in..walk those fields...ALL YEAR...have a pal for life.
Mine loves the sound of a gun...wherever that may be...the field the water the grass...all LAb. ALL DAY.
Hope yours gets the same bug. If you keep it on live birds he will!

I got a pup from Mallard Lake about 10 years ago.  Good dog - he hunted really hard.  Unfortunately, he got hit by a car 2 years ago.

Enjoy the dog - my dog needed A LOT of exercise.  He will hunt his butt off for you, though.

Good looking pup. Like other's have said, you get what you put in. Mine is a little crazy at times and I will for sure put more in the next time I get a dog. She loves the site of ANY gun though, she will always go out for a bird or two, no problems at all. Have fun!

Here's a recent picture of Coal, he is 4 and a half months old and weighs a little over 50lbs.  I have been working on his obedience.

I was just looking at him and his coat looks flat. Why? Do you think they are related :)?

I love having dogs around me. I'll end up willing a dog or dogs to the kids. the worse part is dealing with the end of the road for them. I hate doing the last visit to the vet. I've had two dogs pass at home in their sleep one age and one a medical problem that was misdiagnosed, and we've had to do the last visit 3 times...that drive is a bitch let me tell ya.

Yes, that is a lovely pup and like the other fella said put time in and you will get benefits back that you never thought possible.
