1st band of the season!!!
« on: October 25, 2009, 05:41:44 PM »
Picked up the first band of the season.  Good start so far.  There have been lots of ducks to shoot at.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

I'm not a duck hunter so I'll ask the question. What is so special about the band? Pheasants have them half the time.

Nice work Tony. Do you even have any more room on your lanyard for more bands?  :chuckle: Hopefully i'll get my first band this year. If not, oh well.

Released pheasants hve bands.  Nothing really speecial about shooting a pen raised rooster.  But getting a band on a wild duck and seeing where and when it was captured is pretty cool info.  I've been pretty successful with bands over the years but it's still a great thing to see that silver on the leg every time!

Congrats on the bling!
hey, where's Professor Chaos? Anyone seen him?

Sauvies Island is 15 miles west of Portland.  One of those places where you have to get there at 2:00 in the morning just to get in line to get a blind.  Hunted it once years ago and that was it for me ;)

Nice bird, were they able to tell you right away where it came from, or did you have to send it in?  John

I turn in the info on the internet, so it tells you fairly quickly.  It just mentions the location and when it was banded.  When I get the certificate in the mail it should have all the banders info on it.  I ran out of room on the lanyard, they others will be going on the shelf.
