Went on a great hunt along the snake river breaks. Saw about 200 deer, 20 bucks in 2 days. I got my buck on the first day and my friend waited til the last day before he connected.
Another guy i was with shot at this buck from 300 and missed. I cut it off when it was running below us in a canyon. got my first shot off at about 75 yards. I thought it was a clean hit but it hit his front shoulder and took a turn away from the body. He laid down on the next canyon across from me and i was gonna let him bleed out but he got spooked by my friend and started running. My second shot was through the neck.
Here are some pictures. my buck was 16.5 inches wide. Not bad but probably could have held out for something bigger if I had known just how many big bucks were around.
