Jenna - Congrats on a great buck. The dark antlers are nice, but jeez, that body is huge.

Love those heavy horns, and the color of it.  That Roman nose is pretty cool too.  Almost looks mule deer like, but definitely blacktail antlers.  Tell her congrats, those are real tough to  beat.

Hi everyone! First of all, thanks for all the comments! I still can’t believe this really happened.  We’ve been hunting hard since opening day…making trips back and forth to the Eastside, hiking ridge after ridge, and glassing clearcut after clearcut. I was beginning to worry after hunting for 10 straight days and only seeing one legal buck that I didn’t get an opportunity to take a shot at since the fog was so thick.  I knew they were out there though because the two days I had to work Justin came home with pics of two 2pts that his buddies had got. So yesterday afternoon we decided to head out and try again. It was about 4:30 when we first spotted him.  I immediately saw horns and loaded the gun with as many shells as I could.  He ran into a beautiful patch of old growth timber and we lost sight of him.  Justin thought it’d be best to loop around ahead of him and try to cut him off.  About 300 yards later we heard a branch break and my heart stopped.  I knew he had to be close.  Justin was right ahead of me and calmly turned around and said “come here.” I snuck up behind him and was surprised to see the buck staring back at me at 40 yards. He was facing straight at us so I put the cross hairs on his chest and pulled the trigger.  He took a nose dive and got back up so I put another round in his neck and he was down for good.  It was the most amazing experience ever!! I would have been happy with a spike and here I have a beautiful, dark, heavy-horned 4x3 going on the wall and tons of meat in the freezer! It would not have been possible without my personal guide ;) What an experience to share together…there’s nothing better!!! He’s the best! Thank you Hogsniper!!!! 5 more days and it's your turn!
