Youngster's First Deer! One happy Boy!
« on: October 27, 2009, 05:52:19 AM »
My son and daughter both passed hunters ed in 2008 at ages 12 and 10 years. My son hunted a bit in 08, but did not score a deer. 2009 found us hunting in the Northeast corner of the state trying to help deal with those pesky Whitetailed deer.

After a few days of looking around the areas around Colville, my son finally anchored a nice whitetailed doe.  A close in shot around 25 yards, he shot thru the shoulder and popped the lungs and clipped the heart with his .243. Deer went a few bounds and rolled down the hill. My son could not have been prouder. My daughter who was standing at my son's elbow was a bit upset she could not get a shot at a second doe standing there as well....

I could not have been any happier having my two kids learn to gut a deer, help drag it to the road, skin it at camp, and take care of all the meat! One proud dad!

Congrats to the young man!
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
