Sorry to say the story is non climactic, lots of time and lots of glassing, as you can see he was laying in a clearcut and decided to stand when he should have stayed laying. Shot was short and sweet.

What a dandy blacktail!! Your boy is doing things right and so are you. I've said it a million times on this site. Percentage wise, alot of us have decent or BIG whitetails and mule deer on our walls. But the percentage drops way down when it comes to decent or BIG blacktails on our walls. Congrats to your son and you!!
