everytime i look at those bucks it amazes me, u must be the king of bt hunting  :yike:

well he definately knows some places then! ive seen 2 bt bucks in my life and one was infront of the school and the other in a neighborhood  :chuckle:  :bash:, but in my defense we moved over here from oroville and know nothing about the area or its wildlife

Hit the high country when you can. There is absolutely nothing stopping you from doing the same.  :tup:

Here is a picture of my blacktail from a few years back.  Modern Rifle....scored 137.

@ WAHunter not sure what timber companies there are in your neck of the woods but the main one here where I'm from is Weco.  Anything drivable gets pounded so hard I swear they need to start putting up traffic signs, you may get lucky getting one this way as I do with my wife every year because she's not into walking plus I take the kids, but for me all walk in areas is where its at!  Less hunting pressure, better buck to doe ratio, and more mature bucks.  I would find out where your walk in areas are, find a high spot where you can glass down into about 10 foot high jacks and wait for one to pop out in an opening, one WILL slip up for sure.
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

thanks for the advice! went scouting for bear sunday and no like but saw 2 elk(cows) doing exactly what you said!  :tup: thanks again
