I have had a couple run inns with Wardens in different area. One was in the Blues while elk hunting with a T/C Encore handgun with a 15" barrel 35 Whelen shooting 250gr. bullets traveling 2100fps. He tried to tell me that it was not legal to hunt elk with. Did not site me. Brother-in-law offered him $50.00 to take one shot out of it. Then he said no thanks it would be a handful. When I got back on called headqaurter and talked with the guy that wrote the handgun regulation and he said he would go to court with me if ever sited. Another one was while duck hunting on the river. Warden asked to see my pump shotgun to see if plug was installed. So I unloaded my gun and handed it to him with the action opened. He asked for my shells so I handed them to him. Then he proceeded to fill the magazine. Found out that the plug was installed and handed the loaded gun back to me. When he was leaving I said excuse me you just handed me a loaded gun. He said there was not one in the chamber. I said so you mean to tell me it is not loaded and now I could put this gun in a vehicle and is not considered a loaded shotgun. He said no. His game Warden partner said we all make mistakes and have to be reminded about safety rules.
Nothing like a Remington model 700xcr.

I was hunting with some buds out by Downs lake little while back.  We were walking back to our truck and he was standing in the road like he was in some western movie with his jacket pulled back like he was going to draw his weapon.   When we got about 50 feet from him he yelled out "hold it right there, jack open those actions!" The road we were on it is not lawful to have a loaded gun.  So we did, we were all following the rules.  We got over to the truck and he relaxed a little and began to chew my ass about where I had parked, and chewing out my body about his dog not being leashed.  He decided to give us warnings, however, he made us fill out our own tickets???  That warden was a little loopy!

The warning I had to write was for parking in the wrong area, and my buddy for not having a leash on his dog!

I have had one encounter with Cram in republic. wife and 2 daughters fishing ferry lake. 4 people 3 fishing poles in the boat. when we got to shoe he was barking "show me your license" we were still 30 feet from shore. I had grabbed the stack of licenses from the prior year. he got all worked up as he was gonna write us up. when he left to run our wild id #s a local pulled up with his boy. when I told him the warden was just here and will be back in a minute to finish up with us he told his boy to get in the truck. he explained about several run ins with him and said he will fish another day and drove off. after cram came back he was very cool and gave both my kids sticker badges to wear. he also showed me his photo album of the deer taken in the area. My take on him is, very gruff and stern at first but if you check out ok not a bad guy. :twocents:

IF you can find anyone from Fork/Clallam Bay or Republic/Curlew that says a good thing about Warden Cram, I will publicly apoligize on here to him. Anyone who sticks his handgun in a teenagers face is a bonified punk. Did it to more than one. On one occasion he did it to two friends of mine who were 16 and shooting there 22's in a pit. Then he conficated there jack and lung wrench because he had a flat tire. He tought they were suspicious and because they were not cooperating, he pulled his gun. He was reported and the game department said because they had 22's, he was justified. Forks isn't Compton!
He also pulled is gun on me and five other guys in high school because we also were not cooperating.
I'm pretty familiar with the laws, not cooperating isn't a threat! The guy is a genuine BRICK!
I need here some fellas put his truck in neutral at a boat launch on the Columbia and rolled his rig in the Columbia. Could be a rumor. Being from Clallam Bay, I know his mailbox had some fireworks in Forks.
Which would be specifically why I said most instead of all. Thats quite the story.
