I guess that is pretty nifty trophy for a waterfowler. wouldnt know bout me since i haven't seen one yet.

How many have you guys gotten.

Is it just me or do some species have a higher percentage of banded birds?

I'm like a kid on Christmas every time I shoot a duck looking for that little shine on the leg.  I'm hooked on bands! I even go out and glass birds on the closed areas for jewelry.  Was out this afternoon and spotted 6 banded birds, 1 being a double banded drake!

I've scored 5 so far this season, bringing my total up to 31 mallards, 1 pintail and 2 geese in 25 years of hunting waterfowl.
hey, where's Professor Chaos? Anyone seen him?

Some banding operations will include a reward band along with a standard band.  Typically the reward is $100 but have also heard of $10, $20 and $50 birds.  They use it as an incentive to get the lucky shooter to turn in the info.  Very first banded bird I shot was a double banded drake worth $100 way back in 1988.
