TC maxi-hunter bullets for elk
« on: November 04, 2009, 11:18:11 AM »
Anyone shot an elk with the 50 cal TC maxi-hunter bullet.  I have lots of them in 370 gr and have a late cow tag.
Going to shoot it in my CVA inline with ~100 grs of Triple 7. I Have had good luck with them on mule deer in my old Hawken but no experience with elk.

Thanks,

8 deer and 2 elk with TC maxi-hunter.275 for deer, 370 for elk. 105 grns 777. I shoot less than 100 yds. I put a disc between powder and bullet. Helps a bit with blow by and accuracy.

I like a heavier more stable bullet for ml. They shoot great out of my knight bighorn

Thanks for the info Ribka.  I have the 275 grainers as well but have not shot them yet on deer.  What brand of disk do you use over the powder and where do you get them?
