Anyone need pointers on a 49 degree moose?
« on: November 04, 2009, 04:39:50 PM »
WOW, Up elk hunting today.

Saw no less than 12 moose.
4 were monsters.

I was 50 yards from clashing monster bulls.

Loud!

Saw another hug bull showing off his antlers on a clearing 300 yrds away.

The moose were making all kinds of noise to day, I thought breeding season was earlier?

Anyways, I could point a tag holder in the right directions, Nice down hill haul to a truck, gated road.

I'd love to hear from you.  I am heading over to photograph SOON if all goes well. I know most of the unit pretty well but would love a pointer to a big bull.

Bone, I sent a pm to OKbowhunter about areas I've seen lots of moose the last two years.  I was able to snap several pics of them, both in the fall and in the middle of winter.  PM me if you'd like and I'll give the info to you as well.

I'll let the hunter have 1st crack.

I hunted south today, and will head back north tomorrow. Camera in hand.

Love the moose.

had to go home today to tie up some loose ends. sounds like weather coming in next week. I really appreciate the help guys. I will give you a call before heading over next trip. Please send any pics even if they are not real good, i can tell by a main frame if it is a bull I would like to get a better look at. thanks again, guys,

Darren

I am holding out to the last day if it kills me! BIG BULL!

don't hold out till the last day...his horns might fall off.

To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

OKbowhunter, here's a few pics I took in the last two years.  These were up in Tacoma Creek.  The first bull I would say is a pretty nice bull.  The other two bulls were standing in the road and both had a broken right antler.
