It's 'bout the same as a 270, ballistics wise. Just more expensive to shoot.

wife shoots one.  really likes it.

I'll get one for me eventually. ( as long as i keep calling it "hers" it doesnt count against buying "me" new guns)
"Right now, I am thinking that If my grandmother was here, she would be lecturing me about how there are poor people in Africa, that would just love to have a Ruger, I would just say "Great, granny, lets just ship all the Rugers to Africa!"

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

i shoot one and love it more close to a 308 than a 270  :bash:. since it is a 308 case necked down to a 284 dia that is 7mm. alot of bullet to choose from from 120-175. you can go to remigtons web site go to balistics and see what the drop and energy is and you can also compare it to other calibers.

I have one, Tikka.
If I had to have one rifle for game weighing 20-500lbs, that would probably be it.

The 7-08 is one of my favorite cartridges for a light weight rifle, plenty of power for killing most critters but easy on the shoulder to shoot.

Own one.  Love it.  Will take anything a .308 will take, with better down range ballistics.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

I have a sako 7mm08 and love it.  I have shot 3 bears with it in the last 2 years.  I would have no problem hunting anything with it if i had the right shot.
I just want to know where people get loads bigger than 140 grains have never seen them
