Good Taxidermist
« on: November 09, 2009, 12:25:12 PM »
I think that my Guide didn't leave me with enough hide to do a shoulder mount.  I kept the piece that he cut off.  Does anyone know a good Taxidermist who can fix my Mount?

I don't have any pictures of the cape.  I was just going to wait and see if anyone here knew a good plastic surgeon Taxidermist and take the 2 pieces there.  I had someone cut to deep once and the taxidermist fixed it, but I don't know about sowing another piece back on.  It might be fine, but it is going to be close.  The right shoulder is fine, so I might get it mounted turning it's head.

If you think that you can help my cell number is 586.489.1660, my work number is 425.254.6236, my home number is 425.255.5117.  The cell number works best.

Thanks,
Dennis

Bucklucky can fix anything!!! :P

I've not done the best job on some of my capes and he was able to get them to work. But then again I did cut a few up bad enough that they couldn't be used. LOL
Now I know how to cut them after some pratice.

European mounts look good.. :dunno:
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Nice Whitie....where did you get him? If bucklucky can't fix things, you can always buy another cape.

Zach at Rainier Taxidermy is the best!! He takes a little time but is worth the wait. His phone number is 253-843-1664. He also processes meat and is damn good at it.

Buck can just cut down the form some if ya dont wanna spend around 150-200$ for a new cape!

He will just measure the cape (after its back from the tannery) then shave off the form...it will just be shorter...

Im not saying bucklucky is any good...i wouldnt say that  :P    but I do have 3 deer to drop off to him this week for shoulder mounts...

I second what Tat says.  I have a 25" 4pt muley that I neck shot.  The bullet exploded at the vertabrae and ruined the cape.  The taxi I used just cut down the form.  It is not a shoulder mount, but still looks great on the wall.  I can send you pics of the finished product if it will help.   Just shoot me a pm.
