Willapa Hills - where to stay
« on: November 05, 2009, 11:51:41 AM »
I'd like to spend a couple weekends with my bow in the Willapa Hills during the late season, but since it will only be for a couple of days at a time I'm thinking of staying in a hard-sided tent (AKA hotel/motel). At this point I'm thinking of hitting it from the north, but am open to other options. Can anyone give me some ideas on where I might stay....closest towns with lodging, actual motels/hotels you've stayed in etc.
Thanks,
LF

Thanks Chad. I came to the same conclusion after poking around on the internet. Not too many places to stay between Chehalis and Raymond/South Bend.

Make sure you do the speed limit down there or 1 mph under, i paid for a few improvements in South bend.
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

This is the places to stay page from the Willipa Bay Chamber of Commerce:
http://www.visit.willapabay.org/pages/accommodations.html

Raymond, South Bend, on down to Long Beach all have tourist welcome pages. Ended up at the motel in South Bend on a camping trip once. Ho hum bed and a couple chairs low budget room right on the road. Excellent breakfast across the parking lot. Had eaten early. Went again when the wife woke up.

Seaquest motel in South Bend has done alot of remodeling to most of their rooms through the last few years. It's pretty nice.  I know the owners, great people. That would be your best bet.  The motel at Chen's Restaurant is decent also.   Wouldn't recommend the one in Raymond.

Should be a $hit load of cows in the woods. Saw lots early season and hopefully the fact that its antlerless only will shy away a bunch of hunters. I never really see anyone up there anyhow once I get up a gated road a ways.
