wasted elk!!!

So on the 31st a good friend of mine was hunting out of Ellensburg. He and his Friends son where looking down a draw and spotted a herd of elk. They saw a elk that looked like a spike so they went to get a closer look. as they got closer they noticed that it was not a true spike. so they sat down and started glassing again. They spotted a few hunters. These two hunters that they saw where making a move on the not true spike not to long after they watched them shoot and kill this elk! The two hunters walked up to the elk and noticed that it was not a true spike the shooter picked up the head and put it down then the two of them walked away!! My friend called his partner on the cell and let him know what was going on. His partner headed to the road to get a view of the truck and maybe a lic number. Then the cops where called and down to there camp they went. My friend told them that was the man that pulled the trigger and they told him to leave while they talked to them and that they would talk to him later.
The cops called him and they met for a wright up and he found out that the guy is a MASTER HUNTER AND A HUNTER SAFTEY INSTUCTOR. Also this man that did the shooting tried to tell the cops that my friend was the shooter but he did not call them because he did not want to make waves!! With this all said the cops went back up to the elk and cut off the head and left the rest of the elk what a joke.!!!!!   If this guy that did the shooting is a member of this sight and only you know who you are!! I think you are low worthless man. All you did is make all of us that love hunting look bad. I hope I never meet you.

I am asking this because one time in Alaska I was on a moose, I watched  him for about 25 minutes and knew he was not legal when I seen a couple of other hunters on the ridge. I watched them for a few minutes and actually threw the bino's up on them and seen that they were about to get into a good rest to pull the trigger. I put 3 rounds into the dirt about 25 yards from me and that scared the moose off and it also startled the crap out of them. I caught up to them later in the day, and told them the moose was not even close to being legal and their comment was well at that distance it looked legal. So just asking if anyone would have done the same thing??

Like I said I know it was not you that observed but justy looking for opinions???

Well BB It really depends on how far I was away. Also hunting in AK you do not have as many hunters in the area.
This guy that did the shooting probley would not of even thought twice about someone else shooting. I think I would have well I better not say. I love my hunting rights and hate anybody that does STUPUD crap that help the Gov have a reason to think they can take them away from us enough said!!!!!

bad deal i might of been tempted to go get some meat myself i don't know how long the whole deal took but if it wasn't to long i would of asked the cops if they cared had them right a note saying that i did not kill it but was using my tag and took the animal instead of leavin it there that is a bad deal for sure i don't think my plan would of worked but i would of give a shot a elk is such a great animal in my eyes to not respect it is a shame know what you are shooting at before you shoot to the *censored* that did it if he reads this post
