Wow, nice buck, a story is what we are waiting for, and maybe pictures of the mount?

The mount is in Montana being finished and I don't have an official score yet but I will be taking it to the Head and Horns comp at the Puyallup Sportsman show in February. The story is pretty short. A buddy of mine showed me a good bear hunting spot before the season opened and we had watched a 2x3 with a doe about week before the late buck hunt. He was pretty massive for a blacktail and I was sure I wanted to get him. So I had to work the Graveyard shift and I convinced my boss to let me off early since it was only about 15 miles from my work and house. I met up with my buddy Brandon and my dad. We drove up there before daylight and walked about a half mile behind the gate into a clear cut. There was a skidder road that headed up the hill. We walked until we were on the edge of a smaller clearcut and hunkered down until daylight. As soon as it was light enough, I took the lead and walked around the edge sneaking over a small hill to fully see the clearcut. It was bordered by thick timber and a creek down below and thick timber above( which we all know these big blacktail love. I saw adoe walk out from the lower timber and stopped and waited she was about 200 yards and coming towards me. Iwaited and saw movement coming up behind her. When I first saw him I thought it was that 2x3 I had seen the week before. I waited until he was about 150 yards from me and I slowly stood up because of the angle of the shot I could not use anything for a rest. As soon as I flipped my scope covers up he sensed or heard me and started to take off I fortunately had him lined up and took the shot while he was running. My dad was about 400 yards downhill and behind me saw him go down and radioed to me where he had fallen. When I got to him my heart started racing because I realized he was much bigger than the buck I was originally after. Needless to say I was frickin stoked that I had finally gotten one of these big Blacktail bucks I have hunted for for so damn long. Before this the biggest blacktail I had ever taken was a 2x2 and small which has always been fine because I love venison. He weighed 180lbs. meat and bones at the locker but I had already take the backstraps out because there is no way I will let anybody handle my backstraps. Now I do my own meat processing and am amazed at how much more meat I get. The first animal I ever proceesed on my own was a 4x4 muley from Wyoming two years ago. Because I had to work so much I didn't have time to do this blacktail but it turned out pretty good anyway. Thanks for all the comments this buck was truly a trophy by my standards and he has the center of my living room wall to grace for many years. Good luck to you guys on the late hunt this year. I want to see all the pictures of the monster blacktails taken. Did anyone draw the special permit for the Naneum (GMU 328) any buck hunt beginning Nov. 16th? If so there are a ton of muleys walking around everywhere! I almost forgot to mention this was the most distinct blacktail I had ever seen. Lots of color and dark antlers!

Where abouts in Kitsap County. I hunt archery and am looking for my first kill. A doe suits me just fine.
