Let the work begin.
« on: November 06, 2009, 08:10:53 PM »
How bout some good pictures of us in the heat of battle...........as in what have I got myself into shooting this animal.

Here's one of me sweating my guts out wondering why I keep doing this to myself.

Just out with My cousins cow in tow.

'08's bull. 35 pounds over weight and feeling every step. :(

Lets see your pic's.

Pssshhhhh... ya'll got nice flat ground packouts... haha jk

'07 Colorado Muley... 10.5K ft elevation with half a deer and head/horns and loving every minute of it!

'07 ID Cougar... hide/head/backstraps and rear haunches... bout 65 lbs total plus rifle.  not too bad of a packout..

'09 ID muley (not mine)  we got him at the bottom of the canyon to the left.  About 1K' from the snake River, packed him back up...

'09 ID bull:

WORTH EVERY STEP!!!

I would say that these photo's really capture the essence of what hunting is all about. It goes way beyond pulling the trigger or releasing the arrow. There is so much more involved.

Nice photo's capturing the side of hunting some on the outside are not aware of.

Thanks Wapiti, I agree with you 100%. There are so many memories we have on our outings, its difficult to capture them in a picture that will remind you of it.

Cory didn't have these pics in his computer, so he asked me to post it for him.
We'll call the first picture "BEFORE".  ...as in "BEFORE I started dragging him out"; "BEFORE I looked at the map"; and "BEFORE it started raining"... :chuckle:

Oh yeah.... and "AFTER this, I am buying a %$#@ DEER CART!!! >:("

That was pretty much the worst drag of my life. It took me 6 hours to get to my truck. I was young and dumb. Knowing what I know now I would have just gone back home and got a pack then boned it out. At the time however, I was seeing so much bear sign I didn't want to leave my deer way the hell up one the mountain. I bought this nifty little P.O.S dragging system that year. You can see the orange straps going around me. Don't waste you time with that thing. As Mark said it was not to long after that i purchased a deer cart. Screw dragging. I was lucky enough to have my father in law show up for the last half mile. He brought with him a big green sled. On the wet ground it worked great, well, better than what I was doing anyway. That may have been the most tiered i have ever been. with each step my foot gathered more mud I'm sure my feet weighed fifty pounds a piece. Never, Never, Never, Ever, doing that again.

2009 Moose, wasn't very far, but plenty heavy with the whole head in the pack.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
You are never to old to learn something stupid.
