Brush Blinds in Sage???

I plan on hunting some draws out in the sage during the late deer season.

Found a spot with real good sign where the deer are heading out of the brush into some wheat fields. 

My question is this:  Is hunkering down in a brushy hole (brush blind) a decent plan to kill a muley?  I can sit this spot for several days if needed.

I'm pretty new to the mule deer game, so any input would be nice.  Oh yeah, most of this brush is less than 2 feet tall, so spot and stalk is mostly out of the question.

shouldn't be an issue if you get the blind inplace a couple of days before opener, so te does get used to it.  The bucks are going to be way too busy chasing does to care. best of luck.

I'll just be building the blind out of brush/sage.  I have a pop-up blind, but I'm scared the deer won't tolerate it in such open country.

I'm going to give it a try.  The main trail is 14 yards from a big clump of sage.

Let us know how it goes. I have thought about that, but I live to far away to go set up a blind ahead of time on the property we will be hunting in the late season. I think we will be setting up on travel corridors and still hunting some small coulees that hold deer. I heard the bucks are chasing the does real good right now, I hope it holds up for another 2 weeks!!!

Okay, I have hunted several spots using sage or boulders as cover, but I haven't had a deer stroll by just yet. 

The area I am hunting allows antlerless harvest, so I will try to kill the first legal doe that passes by me. 

Spot and stalk is a bunch of fun, but I have boosted too many deer already this year. I think it's time to just try to ambush them.

yes it will work for muley's just remember when building your blind, less is more.  I have set up what I call hasty blinds in the sage many times.  just cut a few branches to break up your outline.  building thick walls will make em nervous.  Also two foot high sagebrush is plenty of cover for hunting muley's.  You just have to be willing to get low and look for the dips and swells in the land.  Most places that are natural veg are not flat.  i have also used home made guille hats and jackets in the sagebrush with some good success.  Remember in the spot and stalk game, its usually movement or the wind that gets you busted.

Good luck and keep going after them, sage brush muley's.  I grew up hunting them with a bow and its probably what I love best.

have used blind's in the past for deer and turkey, just brush it in, and also make sure you use a face mask and also a dark shirt, black is best
