when you say weight are you talking field dressed, and quartered with the hide still on? plus the head?

Im not good at guessing weight but I'd guess live weight around 485 lbs and hanging weight around 300 if it is skinned and the head and legs removed?

Elk fever is right, it is so nice when all the hard work that goes in to elk hunting, and years of being patient finally pays off.  Not a trophy by any means but young and going to taste great.  I cant wait to try some elk  steaks on the fire.  And thanks for all the congrats guys
