May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

Might have got a sticker or thorn in his side and now it is covered with fatty tissue.  I bet they can remove it and hopefully it will not be too serious.  I had a female bluetick that got one just like that on her shoulder and it was no big deal.  Let us know, ok.

Hopefully just a fatty tumor.  They do show up fast.  My old Lab/Weimaraner would grow them really fast and then they just sat there and did nothing.  By the time he died he was covered with them.  My Spaniel has a almost golf ball sized one on her belly that has been there for a year or so.

They are annoying to us but they don't seem to bother the dog.

Your bet can biopsy them and tell you if they are cancerous pretty easily.

I had a tumor removed off my dog a year and a half ago. they said it was cancerous and it might come back. if it was going to it would likely be within a year...well it hasn't come back yet thankfully. we made the decision to get it removed 1 time but if it came back we'd likely not spend the money to do it again. he just turned 9 years old in october.
it cost me about $1600 between x-rays and the surgery.

it might also be something like Machias said too...

Yeah thats what it looks like to me as well.  My golden had one on top of his rump on one side.  The vet just drew some fluid out of it and then he was fine after that.  She just took a regular needle and got out a bunch of blood and fluid.  Hopefully thats all it is!!!

My wife took my hound dog to Vet today, Vet said its stranger, He put a Needle in and draw Fluid really MASS, He said its not Abcess, and not Fatty part, He said its something else and wont be able to answer today. So he want it take fluid Tissue to Lab and wait to hear from what it is.  :(

I Hope its not bad news. Maybe I can do my own SURGERY on him!  :chuckle: Cheaper that way!

Jacklope, $1600.00  Geez... I hope its not that much...  I am sure it will cost some.

I will keep update on what Lab say this wk.  By the way He weight 75 lbs  :yike:

I hope you get good news when the results come back.

BTW, the expensive part is knocking him out for the surgery.  My labs had a few surgeries, and the expense of anesthesia was always very high.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.
