we had a good year 1 spike 1 cow and a 5x1 if you can believe it ? 8-9 guys

  Congrats. Which unit where you hunting in? What's the story on the 5x1

5x1 walked out of the trees 40 yd from my cousin, He could not believe what he is seeing! turns his Leopold all the way up to make sure, the the bull is staring at him, my cousin drops him were he stands. When he gets up too the bull he sees that small eye guard that the elks ear covered from view, at this point he is sick not sure it's a legal bull?  but wee checked the regs to make sure. I cant remember the exact wording but if it's less than 4 " where antler growth begins your good.

both bulls came out of 340

That is a score on that 5x1 a guy that was camped not far from us got a 6x1 that was cool. I saw a 6x2 could of been a 6x1 but was not sure about that new 4 inch rule so chose not to shoot. Settled for  spike.
