First Bull Down
« on: November 09, 2009, 07:54:29 PM »
Yesterday, my brother was able to take his first bull elk in NE WA.  It was a short shot of about 40 yards, but when the elk hit the ground, the work began.  The bull was over a mile from the truck and about 1200 vertical feet above the truck, with a large creek bottom separating the two.  The hard work involved with getting the elk out just makes the hunting memory that much more sweeter.

sweet elk!
Way to make the first elk memory!

Downhill drags arent much easier than flat or uphill though lol!
Still, i too would have taken such a nice elk home for dinner(s)

Ha- This picture makes it look like we are in the nicest huntin' grounds around!  I know the bitter truth!  That was one heck off a creek bottom we had to go through!!!!  I think that is one of two open patches on that hill side!!!
