Scouting pic... this buck is probably safe
« on: November 10, 2009, 12:51:50 PM »
Pic of the smallest buck I saw last weekend out scouting.  I'm guessing he'll probably be safe.   :)

Sooper is holding out on us.  That is a great photo because you caught the action and you can tell quality glass was used to take the image.  The buck pops out of the photo because you used a good lens.  Great job man.

I agree.  When the detail in the chin whiskers is that good, it is a quality photo.

Thanks for the kind words.

Swanny - 300mm2.8IS lens + 1.4x  on a 1DMK3.

Checked the exif -- 420mm, iso 250, 1/1000 , F4

Got pretty lucky as the sun decided to peek a little bit through the clouds as I came across this guy.. soon after it was snowing.

I agree, I bet most of his brothers were only spikes this year as well. He'll have some great character in a couple of  years.

Very nice shot!
Has it all, Bohka, Eye catching vignette, Tack sharp, Great DOF for f4, from butt to nose! Golden defused light.
Even love the log at his feet, great detail.
