Cows In Margret Area
« on: November 17, 2009, 10:11:09 PM »
Hi all know it is kind of short notice but would like some suggestions for cows in Margaret...I have read all of those who say you will find cows close to any of the locked gates...I do not find this so...

my brother and I hunted the whole bull season and nothing but a few cows..at least where it is legal to shoot..we have scouted on and off for maybe 10 days while not hunting and have seen very few elk in the area...

which leads me to believe there are definately places that are hotter than where we are looking...I will say this I am older 61 and cant hike in 10 or 12 miles like some of you...but in the same respect we don't just road hunt either...usually it is our luck to run them to someone sitting in a truck somewhere...

so am looking for any hints in the short time left..have never shot an elk as I see my bulls during deer season and usually the big bucks during elk..got any suggestions??????
