That's a great looking BT. It's a shame he met his fate with a car. I used to see a couple really nice bucks up off Cooper Point rd near the Evergreen State College. Definitely some good genetics out there.

this is why washington needs a point restriction on the westside. i think it should be a three point min. so bucks can grow to maturity and we can get to see what kind of genetics are going to pop out in areas where most of the deer killed are spikes or small two points. yes some deer only grow to be very large two points but id rather see an area full of mature  huge two points than an area sparse with any bucks. plus when an animal is mature the bodu whieght is way more than a yearling or a two and a half year old deer.

the west side has plenty of cover for bucks to get big, if you want more deer which means more bigger deer take out some of the predators is my  :twocents:

dang this is an old thread :chuckle:, nice buck though

predator control is also a very big necessity but so is big game management this state has neither.  and yeah its really old  i was just browsing through and found it.

is it legal to collect a road kill?

ILLEGAL to pick up, cut off heads, racks, etc.
You can only posses them if naturally shed.  You would probably have to get approval from a State or Federal game warden for removal and not a sheriff.  I guess you could try to win the argument that the deer shed its head off.   :dunno:

:chuckle:  I've yet to see a naturally shed "deer head", with the exception of those resulting from two bucks getting locked up and the live deer kicking it off.
;D
No kidding!  I've ridden with my dad's buddy (State Game Warden) and seen quite a few guys either cited or warned for taking road kill.

Dandy buck and I love all the trash he's got on him.  At least he wasn't taken by some worthless poacher...

I agree....My uncle hit a decent buck on the way to deer camp one year, tagged it and reported it at the game check, for his honesty, he received a 500.00 fine, lost his tag, and hunting priveleges for two years. All because he didn't want the buck to go to waste!  :dunno:

Urban bucks get big. I used to be late to school chasing a giant 4 point around on south hill in puyallup. Theris now a safeway at one spot id see him and a movie theater at the other. that was a little over 10 years ago though.
Remember that buck is climbing that Mt. every day!
